Spinal Decompression in Flower Mound TX

Are you looking for spinal decompression in Flower Mound TX? You don't have to live in debilitating pain. Whether you have lower back pain, a pinched nerve, sciatica, radiating pain into the arms or legs, neck pain, or a variety of symptoms related to damaged or degenerative discs, spinal stenosis, and post-operative complications, as well as syndromes of the lumbar and cervical spine. Spinal Decompression may be for you.

This gentle, non-surgical procedure can provide lower back and neck pain relief, and sciatica pain relief, and is a state-of-the-art procedure for, bulging, herniated, or degenerative disc disease in the neck and lumbar regions.

The gentle distractive forces of the Spinal Decompression create a decompression of the spine with unloading due to distraction and proper positioning, to improve blood flow and nutrient exchange to the injured area. You'll experience several cycles of stretch and relaxation, which graduate to a peak over a period of several minutes.

Are you a good candidate for spinal decompression in Flower Mound TX?

If you're experiencing lower back pain, sciatica (leg pain), neck pain, arm numbness/tingling, degenerated disc, or bulging disc, spinal decompression is highly recommended for you.

Those that do not qualify are patients with a broken vertebra, a history of spinal fusion, or an artificial disc, or have had multiple surgeries without recovery. Additionally, patients with the following conditions are not ideal candidates:

  • Spinal infection
  • Ankylosing spondylitis
  • Spinal tumor

You may be wondering if this pulling of the spine will be painful. It's a frequent question people ask.

In our experience, patients report the procedure as very comfortable and gentle. The treatment utilizes a controlled pulling mechanism that can increase or decrease in tension as we set it. We always set the tension low at first, until you get comfortable, and then adjust it to a tension that will get the most benefit for that particular person's weight and body type.

Most patients report a light sense of stretch on their hips or backs and feel comfortable enough to relax during the treatment.
Some also have reported slight pain in the procedure if their back is in really bad shape, this is normal. This pain is not a "bad pain," but a pain of movement of an inflamed spine. We always ask for feedback to make sure the pain is not unbearable.

The pain should reduce over the course of treatment and eventually cause no discomfort or pain at all.

The studies and clinical results of spinal decompression have been promising. It has helped patients who do not want to have surgery and those that have tried all other treatments with no success.

While the success of this treatment is great, please do not think that we are guaranteeing 100% results. Results will be based on adherence to treatment recommendations by our doctor.

However, the clinical results of this therapy have shown to help approximately 85% of patients.

How long are the treatments & how many do you need?

Depending on the extent of the therapy needed due to the severity of the condition, the patients will require at least 1-3 treatments a week for the first month. We typically re-evaluate after every month to see what the progress is.

The patients will typically undergo 12 – 30 sessions for traction/decompression treatments depending on how bad the spine condition is. We will assess this with x-rays and feedback from the patient as treatment progresses.

The treatment sessions might also include additional therapy such as electrical stimulation, manual soft tissue adjustments, chiropractic adjustments, and cold laser therapy. A complete session can last between 20-35 minutes.

It is exciting to note that many patients find immediate relief after a few sessions.

The treatment may either increase or decrease in frequency depending on the body’s response to the procedure.

Most patients complete their treatment within 4 – 8 weeks.

How much does spinal decompression cost?

It's probably the most common question we get because you've probably spent a lot of money already trying other treatments with little to no results.

Or you've seen your other doctor's bills and may be concerned that this will cost a lot. It doesn't!

We know it's hard to put more money into a treatment that you don't know 100% works. However, what are you really losing if you don't try?

In our office, the range of our patient's expenses is anywhere from $600-$2500 for their treatment plan. Those on the $600 end did not require a lot of sessions or additional therapy for their pain and those in the $2500 range had a pretty bad disc and needed a lot of work.

Does insurance cover this? Unfortunately, decompression is a treatment that insurance does not cover as they see it as an alternative medicine that is optional. They would rather see you continue taking medication or worse, surgery.

We don't boast that this will be the absolute solution for your back pain or neck pain, but we are confident that it has a high chance of succeeding, not just for the short term, but long term.

If you are serious about getting your health back and working without nagging pain, spending time with your kids and seeing them grow up and being involved in their daily activities, or just getting back to walking without pain, we think it's worth taking a closer look at the potential of what spinal decompression can do for you.

Our office provides free consultations to answer any other questions you may have because we know a decision like this is not a light one.

Please contact our office any time to set up a time with our doctor and we can go into more detail as to what the treatment will entail and if you'd qualify based on your condition.
